Anger Management Counselling
Anger is a normal human emotion but there can be times when we feel overwhelmed by persistent or intense feelings of anger. These feelings may be related to past emotional or hurtful experiences or they may relate to present day challenges and stressors. Whatever the cause, anger can become intrusive if it starts to impact negatively on our life and relationships. When anger is not expressed effectively, feelings of anger can build up internally and then later be expressed through violent behaviour or verbal abuse, impacting those around us.
Life Supports counsellors are qualified to work with people who are struggling to deal with anger in their lives. We work along side our clients to assist them to identify the source of their anger and work through those feelings constructively. We also assist our clients to find positive ways to express their anger that in turn lead to better mental health and healthier relationships. When anger is associated with violence, counselling can help to repair damaged relationships and support clients in developing alternatives to violence to deal with their feelings.
If required, your counsellor will can provide you with a letter stating that you have participated in anger management for court purposes.
Life Supports counsellors have offices located in Balwyn, Melbourne CBD, Moorabbin, Niddrie, Prahran, Seddon and Geelong.
