Liz Chard

Diploma of Professional Counselling
Bachelor of Applied Science (Speech Pathology)

Liz has had over 14 years experience working in clinical settings. She has had extensive experience counselling individuals presenting with a range of issues including depression, anxiety, and addiction and has also worked with many couples in relationship therapy. Liz's client centred approach to therapy will vary depending on the needs of her clients. For some it is the opportunity to talk with a skilled and objective listener to clarify thoughts and gain understanding. Others are looking for more structured or direct input and clear goal setting as a way of monitoring progress.

Either way, Liz believes that helping her clients to develop awareness of and understanding into their own behaviours and responses is the first step toward making positive change. Part of her approach incorporates helping clients to identify ways that they can better manage the emotions or behaviours that are impacting negatively on the quality of their life or relationships.

She also encourages clients to identify the things that are most valuable and meaningful to them as a framework for counselling towards an authentic, meaningful and satisfying life.
